I never thought I could be friends with my immediate reporting managers....Whenever I saw ppl being all pally pally with their managers my first impression would be "maska maring".... My first 4 yrs in MT i always kept a distance with Managers... I also dont like going for lunch with team mates.... Its boring to see the same faces n talking the same stuff during lunch.... Dr S was an exception....First time I met Dr S in a D2R meeting... The only one in the room who was talking sense and was out right practical... When I heard she would be my reporting manager, I was on cloud 9..I had heard she was a famous lady n ppl just adore her...But my biggest surprise was when I saw the number of people who used to come over to visit her to tell a Hi...Most of the management books talk abt managers should be good listener... should have leadership skills blah blah blah... Dr S is simple n straight forward... no complication what so ever.... You could just talk to her anything under the sun...She is a strong lady....I loved the way she would give back to people who crossed their line :) She has the most amazing collection of sarees... (I will surely rob them sometime) Must say working with her were my happiest days in MT..Errrrrr.... I would be one of the rarest species caz I would miss my manager when she was not in office :( Dr S if it was not for you, I would have had a completely different impression about managers in the so called corporate world....
