N she drove......

Last weekend was SG's wedding.... N time for us to start a mail chain on who is attending... N who is wearing what costume.... with some ever pretty people telling us abt how they have only boring kanchipuram sarees... damn i look like a drum in those sarees.... n these ever pretty ppl crib abt it... n end by looking like those kanchipuram saree ad ka models... anyways... so after lot of mailing we decided that we will attend the wedding reception on saturday, stay at our vpura house after the reception... also we will have a surprise bday cake for cj..... (cj's birthday was a week before that).... mean time Prav announced that she will get her car to the reception n I will have to accompany her while she drives... Now me n prav learnt car driving together but after that we hardly drove on any busy road.... Though I was a little nervous abt how she would drive 14 km away on busy roads I still knew we could somehow manage..... I did try to manipulate her by asking her to leave home early n avoiding driving in the dark... but no use... madam wanted to LEARN night driving when I am her only co passenger... N when her only co passenger is all decorated like a ayudha puja bus.....

So we decided to start at 5 - 5:30 PM... N knowing Prav we started at 6:20 PM which surely is early as per prav standards..... Prav was definitely good at driving..... Initially some rude private bus drivers irritated us... but that was managable.... my mom had adviced me not to talk much while she drives.... but if u know me well... i will die if i keep my mouth shut..... so i was on with my blah blah blah.... when we reached studio signal on ring road... suddenly i could sense burning smell... then both of us concluded its caz of traffic n pollution... as we moved further prav commented that the burning smell is following us.... n again we mutually concluded that its traffic n pollution... minutes after that when we passed a little further my sharp eye saw smoke coming out of the bonnet.. now if u r someone who is aware of  who how what... u know its not a big deal.. but for ppl who have taken their dear car out for the first time... its something else......

so I call a friend of mine and on phone he tells me since there is no coolant  the engine has got heated n there is smoke.... Now how to put coolant.... ??? things me n prav learnt on road wearing sarees in the dark with rude traffic around us
1. where is the bonnet opening button inside the car.... its not easy... we removed the fuse cover the first time....
2. how to pull the bonnet open... again only experience can teach u caz these tricky cars have some hidden buttons that needs to be pushed up or down to open the bonnet
3. how a car looks with a bonnet open... I have never ever examined this before
4. do not open the radiator when the car is hot..... in our case when the car is really hot n fuming.....
5. the coolant dabba... the exact place where we have to pour coolant...
6. how to raise a car!!!!!!!!! now my friend on phone tells me "coolant hakbekadre car raise madi" the exact same statement is told by the person who was helping us on the spot... now both of us have noooo clue what is car raise madodhu??? ok its just pressing ur accelerator when the car is in neutral n hand break on... how will poor souls like us understand this complicated language....
7. finally we got some free advice on how we should switch on the headlight only after turning on the engine...

Note: We did not get coolant in that part of the world... so we managed with 2 ltr water...... We practiced step 1 - 7 again the next morning while feeding some coolant to the car.....

Prav I am so happy that u drive so well.... now my frequent shopping trips will be so much more easier.... :)
I am sure we will learn to change tiers the next time :D

BTW we did attend SG's wedding reception... I guess we were the last ones to enter the hall... Had nice food... returned to our V pura house (seemas house is our house).... had super fun chatting chatting chatting... next day morning aunty gave us yummm dosa... I got some chutney pudi back home as well.....
